Cora Hallsworth
Connecting Environmental Professionals
Project Manager, Sustainability Consulting
The Sheltair Group

Cora launched Connecting Environmental Professionals (CEP) in 2002. CEP is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to promoting opportunities for capacity building, career development and networking. The organization now has nearly 150 members and is a chapter of the national organization 'Young Environmental Professionals', which has more than 500 members in the cities of Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto.

In addition to her work on CEP, Cora is a consultant with The Sheltair Group where she works on sustainable community planning initiatives with an emphasis on energy, air quality and greenhouse gas planning. Cora focuses her efforts on developing collaborative processes and engagement strategies-critical components in moving towards more sustainable communities. She has been consulting to communities across the country, to the federal and provincial governments, and to a few international clients for the past six years. Prior to becoming a consultant, Cora was responsible for developing and delivering environmental education and awareness campaigns across Ontario on behalf of the Recycling Council of Ontario.

Volunteer work is very important to Cora. She has contributed her time to numerous environmental groups over the past 15 years - as a board member, environmental education advisor, and network facilitator. Cora enjoys developing collaborative projects that bring together the strengths of individuals and groups for positive action.
